NPTC Participates in Share the Road Program

Alexandria, VA – Matthew W. Peterson, CTP, Chairman of the National Private Truck Council and Manager, National Account Lease Sales for Mack Leasing System and Gary F. Petty, President and CEO of NPTC, today participated in a ceremony at American Trucking Associations Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia, celebrating the success of the Share the Road Program.

The Share the Road Program, jointly sponsored by ATA, Mack Trucks and Chevron Delo, travels around the country to educate all motorists about how trucks and cars can safely share the road.

Unveiled today was a new custom-designed truck and trailer that will tour the country as part of ATA's highway safety program. The custom truck and trailer were donated by Mack, via its Mack Leasing System, and GE Trailer Services, respectively.

After a safety demonstration, the custom truck and trailerâs first stop will be the Hurricane Katrina disaster area with critically needed relief supplies from Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. The shipment will be comprised of 1,176 cases of much-needed bottled water to be delivered to Waveland, Mississippi where the worst of the devastation occurred in the state, and the Mississippi Emergency Management Administration in Jackson, MS.
